CEO of QLCC
Paul has extensive international experience in COO, CFO and CRO roles in the financial services industry, working closely alongside CEOs in a strategic advisory capacity.
He is an experienced Chief of Staff to several CEOs, having held senior positions in UBS, JP Morgan and Credit Suisse, both in the UK and Latin America, as well as at smaller start-ups.
Paul is a Chartered Accountant and holds a BSc in Accounting and Finance from the University College of Wales.
Rocco is a vastly experienced underwriter of complex litigation risks having spent two decades developing legal expenses insurance business for QBE, Temple Legal Protection and Capita Assistance. A practising solicitor, Rocco has been until recently a Director in the investment team of Harbour Litigation Funding.
In addition to being a member of the leadership team of QLCC, Rocco is one of the leading lights of the dispute resolution community. Since 2003 he has been serving on the forums and committees of the Civil Justice Council, a statutory body with responsibility for overseeing and modernising the civil justice system. Rocco has also been a member of The General Insurance Standards Council’s Working Party on BTE insurance and a member of The Association of British Insurers’ Legal Expenses Committee.
Rocco is the general editor of The Law Society’s Litigation Funding Handbook and the author of a number of its chapters, including that on ATE insurance. He is the co-author of the chapter on legal expenses insurance in the practitioners’ textbook Friston on Costs.
Assessor of proposals and liaison with policyholders and their legal teams
Macella has over 11 years of post-qualification litigation experience across leading Northern law firms including Kennedys, Ozon and BBHO. During this time she has gained significant insight into matters relating to professional negligence, financial services and regulation.
With an education focused on sciences and fluency in Cantonese, Macella ensures the QLCC underwriting team has a broad outlook on the world of business and litigation.
